In November 2019, surveyors will begin reviewing and enforcing Phase 3 of the new Requirements of Participation relating to compliance and ethics programs. In order to be prepared, nursing home providers need to have a compliance program in place that effectively identities, mitigates, and responds to high risk areas.
- Identify the requisite elements of a compliance and ethics program that will meet survey requirements.
- Gain an understanding of the necessary skills and responsibilities of an effective compliance and ethics officer.
- Review practical approaches for preventative compliance and how to respond when compliance issues arise.
